Release Notes

  • Settings gets a massive facelift.
  • Atlas gets a new, animated splash screen for 2025.1.
  • Added Patches and Offsets as new project data types.
  • An option to blend compared tables has been added to the table compare feature.
  • Implemented double-click to close as a setting that is disabled by default. When enabled, this lets you close focused project tree items by double-clicking them in the tree.
  • VB WRX: Analysis is now simpler/more lightweight, this saves time and battery life.
  • The “Passed” column has been removed from the DTC editor.
  • The background surface of the Console and Gauges tab are now darker to afford you more contrast.
  • Console messages (info, warning, and error) are now drawn with more readable/pleasant text colors.
  • Gauge values are now drawn in bold to make them even more readable.
  • Some error messages across the application have been improved for diagnostics.
  • Atlas now supports brick protection, a feature that enables you to recover your ECU even when the OEM routines would otherwise fail to recover it.
  • VB WRX: Advanced Datalogging is now available as a patch in the Patches folder.
  • VB WRX: Fixed Ignition - Final Timing and Engine - Calculated Load, these values were misreporting on the 2023 VB WRX.
  • Error messages have been slightly improved in the patching logic to make understanding failures a little easier.
  • A speed-up fix has been implemented for folks with large projects.
  • VB WRX: New EOI-related analytical parameters have been issued that help you understand if you’re running out of injection time (EOI degrees, EOI to degrees before spark).
  • Colors are now auto-selected in the data-logger for any parameters that don’t already have pre-assigned colors.
  • You can now group tracks together in the data-logger! Atlas will remember your track groups across all data logs. Grouped tracks will share Y axes for any equivalent units (i.e. mm, degF will each have their own Y axes). Either right-click to group tracks together, or Control/Cmd+Click multiple tracks to group quickly. Grouped track data lines will highlight the hovered parameter when your mouse gets close to it.
  • A cursor can now be placed in the data-logger. Click once to place the cursor, and click anywhere else to clear it. If you have the cursor out-of-view, clicking immediately places a new cursor. The cursor also can be used for time measurement in the upper-right of the data logger.
  • A new time-ticker is now available in the bottom of the data logger.
  • You can now delete tracks entirely from your datalogs.
  • You can now add analytical parameters to your datalogs after-the-fact.
  • The background of the data-logger now adopts a time-aware graph style to help you stay oriented, and the colors have been made softer (for hovering, etc.).
  • VB WRX: New definitions have been added for Decel Fuel Cutoff and AVCS Alt. Targets.
  • Open/save dialogs now open in list mode by default, and use a much larger dialog size.
  • The datalogger has been rewritten in OpenGL, affording us a much snappier experience and reducing limits we had on datalog time.
  • The datalogger now supports histograms, scatter plots, and multi-line charts.
  • The table editor has received a visual upgrade for the stacked visualization, now more clearly showing axis labels. For 3D tables, click on its panel to switch between plot modes (X or Y scan). Click and drag to zoom.
  • VA WRX: The USDM 2015-2021 WRX MT is now supported.
  • VA WRX: Fast flashing is now supported for the USDM 2015-2021 WRX MT.
  • VA WRX: Brick protection is now supported for the USDM 2015-2021 WRX MT.
  • VB WRX: Patching and resizing for tables is now available for most tables. Right click a table to patch it with new dimension sizes.
  • Fixed a problem where sometimes Atlas would fail to upload the flash driver and would start over.
  • VB WRX: Closed Loop / Open Loop fuel transition has been completely defined, and is now all moved to “Fuel - Targets - Transition”.
  • VB WRX: AVCS has had a major expansion, reorganization, and data correction for its definitions. This includes AVCS control at idle.
  • VB WRX: The Idle pipeline (engine speed and MAF) has been revisited and is now much more accurate in its definition.
  • VB WRX: The PIDs folder has been removed due to its redundancy and data accuracy concerns.
  • VB WRX: Countless parameters and tables have been added for the 2023 WRX that were previously unsupported.
  • VB WRX: Deceleration ignition timing tables have been defined.
  • VB WRX: Fast flashing now supports compression, speeding up flash times even further. We have seen flash times as low as 11 seconds for small changes.
  • You can now import an Atlas Mod to a specific calibration faster by right-clicking a calibration in the Calibrations tree and clicking “Import Atlas Mod”.
  • When saving, the name of a datalog file is now pre-populated to its title (typically date-based) when you save an .adl file.
  • Fixed an issue where any “grouped” format tables wouldn’t open or cross-apply (Fuel - Pulse - Multiplier, etc.).
  • Fixed an issue with cross-application of calibrations.
  • Fixed numerous issues with the driver for the OBDLink EX adapter and the Tactrix OpenPort 2.0.
  • You can now upgrade projects! Click “File -> Upgrade Project” when you have your desired project open to do this.
  • The console tab now has a “badge” that shows the number of posted messages you haven’t read yet.
  • VB WRX: Fixed oil temperature scaling and assigned it its own color so it doesn’t clash with coolant.
  • Fixed a visual issue when applying tables. Now, the entire table isn’t selected after applying a table.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes duplicating calibrations wouldn’t ask you for a new name.
  • If a table comparison fails to apply, an error is now shown to you and logs are made available.
  • Fixed an issue where you could change the cardinality (arrangement) of axes using the axis editor, which would cause all sorts of strange issues.
  • The data-logger now shows progress dialogs when opening logs so you’re not left wondering how long you’ll need to wait for larger logs to open.
  • VB WRX: Fixed an important bug with the primary ignition timing scaling.
  • VB WRX: Fixed the scaling for Fine Knock Learn (Knock Control - Learning).
  • VB WRX: Fix Boost Error scaling.
  • VB WRX: Fixed an issue where map tracing wasn’t working in the wastegate P/I tables.
  • Improved the trackpad scrolling performance of the table editor.
  • Clicking in the datalog view now shows its own unique crosshair in the table editor that has its own X/Y dashed lines to help you find it.
  • Atlas no longer data-logs based on the selected calibration. It now uses the calibration on the vehicle to determine which variant will be logged.
  • Map tracing lines now have transparency, making it easier to see the table values above the trace lines.
  • Fixed a bug where “fit to width” didn’t work as expected in the datalogger when zoomed in.
  • Fixed a bug where pressing “.” (Period) in the floating-point input dialog wasn’t working.
  • Atlas now supports acceleration units such as g, m/sec^2, etc. The default is meters per second squared.
  • Atlas now supports time integration for analytical parameters.
  • VB WRX: New Analytical - Acceleration has been added.
  • VB WRX: Fixed a bug with the scaling for Knock Control - Feedback
  • Atlas now also supports units of Area, Force, Weight, etc. with associated conversions
  • Atlas now supports adding nesting analyticals as variables within analyticals.
  • VB WRX: Atlas now offers a virtual dynamometer, “AVD!”. To use this, add the parameters “Analytical - Estimated Power” and/or “Analytical - Estimated Torque” to your gauge set. AVD accounts for wheel slip, drag, SAE J1349, and much more.
  • You can now create high/low highlights in the datalogger to highlight areas of concern in specific parameters. Right-click tracks in the datalogger to do this; your highlights will be remembered across datalogs.
  • You can now select the preferred unit for your gauges in each gauge’s settings dialog.
  • Gauge min/max in the settings dialog is now relative to your preferred (or selected) unit for a gauge.
  • Gauges that are based on “Advanced” parameters are now hidden automatically in gauge mode. You can of course turn this off in the Atlas Settings.
  • You can now selectively hide guages in gauge mode with a new checkbox per-gauge in the gauge settings.
  • When you’ve finished recording a datalog, the entire log is automatically fit to the screen.
  • Fixed a bug with keepalives that made flashing insanely slow in some rare circumstances.
  • The data-logger now sorts your tracks according to your selected gauge set’s organization, if possible, and alphabetizes them otherwise.
  • Fixed a bug that could have caused improper cell edit issues when modifying 3D tables.
  • The gauges tab now defaults to a new ‘List Mode’, you can turn this off (revert back to the old look) in the Atlas Settings.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a warning to print sometimes when your settings were auto-saved.
